Women’s services

Women in prison have far higher rates than the average of mental health issues, self-harm and abusive relationships.

We are committed to understanding and addressing the reasons that underpin women’s offending.

We are determined to work in collaboration with our specialist partners across the region to turn women away from crime, so they can build better lives for themselves, their children and our communities.

We work with The Nelson Trust, a charity operating across Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire. They provide our woman service users with emotional and practical support. Assistance is delivered through one to one keyworker sessions and group activities including help with accommodation, finances, emotional health and wellbeing, substance misuse, domestic abuse, families, relationships and education and training. They also deliver two women-centric Rehabilitation Activity Requirements; Women-specific and Beyond anger and violence.

We also work with Eden House an organization operating in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. They support women service users to make positive changes to their lives and build their self-confidence through provisions such as one-to-one person-centred counselling services, employment, training and education and access to the Freedom Programme. Their services also include participation in the Rehabilitation Activity Requirements; Emotional resilience, Addictive Behaviours and Beyond Violence.
